Chickpea burgers is on the menu for today... dr gillian mckieth.. at last, the recipe goes as such:
410g can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
410g red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 carrot trimmed and grated
1 small onion, peeled and grated
50g sunflower seeds (im not putting them in)
2tbls tahini, drained of excess oil before measuring
1 garlic clove peeled and chopped
1tbsp wheat free bullion powder.
1 preheat oven to 220c/ gas mark 7. Line a large baking tray with grease proof paper.
2 PLace all ingredients in a food processor for 5 or ten seconds until mixture is fairly coarse
3remove blades from food processor wet your hands under cold tap water and shape mixture into 20small balls.
4place the balls on te prepared baking tray and flatten slightly with the back of a spoon.
5bake 15-18minutes until lightly coloured. remove from the oven and allow to rest.
I am serving these with salad. Well i better go start. Dad is asleep in his chair.. must of been up all night, maybe thats showing his age!
Must go start making them now.
